Dizziness can be caused by lots of different factors. It can be troubling and debilitating, but there is help.
“Dizziness” is used differently by different people – it’s not a very precise term. It can describe lightheadedness, feeling off balance, a sense of rocking or swaying, nausea, motion sickness, a feeling of floating, or a perception of motion, sometimes called vertigo.
Your physiotherapist will ask questions to learn more about the triggers for your dizziness, and specific information about how long it lasts and how it impacts your life. Before your first visit, try your best to think of ways to describe the sensation you feel when you’re describing being dizzy.
Your physiotherapist can then provide exercises and other non-surgical treatment options designed to target the exact cause of your dizziness and alleviate your symptoms.
