“Frozen shoulder” or adhesive capsulitis is a condition where the shoulder becomes painful, stiff with limited range of motion. In some severe cases, you may not be able to move your shoulder at all, hence, the term “frozen.”
Frozen shoulder is caused when the flexible tissue around the shoulder joint (the capsule) becomes inflamed and thickened and symptoms may persist for 2-3 years. Your physiotherapist may use joint mobilization techniques and therapeutic exercise to help you manage your condition.
